Non-Profit Vows To Reschedule Canceled Black Eyed Peas Fundraiser

Tens of thousands of fans of The Black Eyed Peas we left disappointed Thursday afternoon (June 9th), after the group was forced to cancel a performance in Central Park in New York, due to inclement weather.

Over 20,000 people had gathered in New York's Central Park to watch the Black Eyed Peas perform during a benefit concert for The Robin Hood Foundation.

The charitable performance was meant to benefit New Yorkers living in poverty, but the event was after lightning struck close to the performance area.

The doors for the concert were supposed to open at 5:00 PM with Carole King and Taylor swift as opening acts, but the opening was delayed by 2 1/2 hours due to the weather.

"As much as we hate poverty, we hate the idea of putting anyone’s safety at risk," The Robin Hood foundation said in a statement. "Which was why, due to inclement weather, the Concert 4 NYC presented by Chase was officially cancelled by the City of New York. At Robin Hood we aren’t quitters.  We’ll never stop fighting poverty."

Reps for The Robin Hood Foundation vowed to reschedule the fundraising event, although it is not known if The Black Eyed Peas will take part in the next event.sources allhiphop
